While state mandated training covers basics and clinical information, it doesn’t necessary solve the problem of realistic approaches to the de-escalation of emotionally disturbed persons, either verbally or through the application of force. This course is designed to give leadership and front line officers tools on how to resolve these incidents maximizing officer safety and the safety of those they are trying to help. Force should be the last option in these incidents. Agencies looking to host this course will receive two free spots. For Texas Agencies: This course may be eligible for TCOLE credit.
